Default catalytic converter question...

im in the process of trying to ref my car and i took it in once and didnt pass and the tech at the ref center in modesto told me that i can run two cats...would that make me pass?? my motor burns oil, not a crazy amount, but its still noticeable... would two cats help me pass because i cant afford another motor right now...

notes: im running a B18b1 with b16 tranny

go for it, get a used one and have an exhaust shopp remove a section of pipe and add flanges, and then after you are reffed remove the cat and bolt on the pipe and then keep the cat for next year.
