car wont go pass 100 mph..heres the set up
92 cx hatch..95 d16z6 motor.. p28 ..greddy kit..type s bov..side mount ic...vortech fmu..
i swapped the motor and the turbo at the same time ..wonder if it could just be the motor or just the turbo?? any ideas?? thanx all

 

GET A DOHC! J/k hehe. Maybe the ecu you got has a speed govenor maybe?

 

Probably the transmission or the ecu.
Do you have the VTEC version of the d16?
Do you have a CX tranny?
Do you have a governor?

 

its the vtecv version d16z6 yes
cx tranny yes
governor..if it normally comes with it then yes i guess..i havent messed witht he ecu any at all..just an obd1 p28...anyone??..thanx all

 

wow my beater volkswagen can hit 110mph. it's stock with 99hp.

 

heh, my car wouldn't break a hundred the other day...I was going up a mountain and had three passengers Then again, the BMW I was racing couldn't even go that fast I know...I know...I usually make a point not to speed at all, but I couldn't resist as the odometer rolled over to 100k at the same time, no joke... = Good.
I'd say it must be something with the speed sensor or ECU...it doesn't really make sense any other way, if it's pulling hard in other gears...though, is it possible the clutch is slipping and you just don't notice it in lower gears?

what size are your tires? my friend in a tacoma... he has a governor of 115 i think? well when he borrowed tires i used to have on my old SI rims, he could only hit 95mph... because his speedometer was wrong.
