Default Will a 1992 sohc non vtec cx motor fit into a 97 cx?

I know the motor will bolt in, but what about the wiring? Will the ecu plug into the factory harness?

no, cause 92 is obd1 and 97 is obd2. But you can covert it

wassup i got 94 dx coupe 1.5 and im tryin to swap 96 1.6 sohc vtec motor into my car do i have to convert it and get a sohc vtec ecu plus the motor is off a automantic civic so it should matter right?

I don't think you wanna do this. WHY? because you're putting an older (1992) engine into a newer vehicle (97). If the smog guy is going by the book he won't pass you because the motor has to be of the same year AS THE CAR or newer to pass smog & the ref.

If he passes you ...more power to ya.

The CX motor will fit, with the right mounts, but you HAVE to use a 96-98 engine harness when using this motor in your 97 CX. The OBD1 CX engine harness is incompatible with an OBD2 vehicle because of its a 2-piece design ....all 96-00 civics use a 1-piece design engine harness.
