I have an EG Carbon Fiber Duckbill and it's startin to fade!

My question is has anyone every tried wet sanding the duckbill down and then respraying it with a clear coat? I was told that it could be done to get the fading out....i tried searching but couldn't find anything that helped! Please any info is greatly appreciated

ive seen people on here in the appearance forum wax their cf hoods with peanut butter to take away the fading.

correct. it works. the reason peanut butter works is because of the oils in the peanut butter. I've personally used Lemon oil (same stuff used for polishing wood furniture) and it also restores faded carbon fiber.

Keep in mind though, that while this DOES work, it is only a temporary solution. You'll have to keep reapplying it, or if you want to permanently fix, you'll need to have it recleared. for a duckbill though, it may just be cheaper to buy a new one.

Well i have the tools to respray the duckbill if necessary, i'm preppin my car now for a new paint job.

just buy a good quality one to start and you wont have to worry about it

I can personally vouch for it. That 3M **** is amazing.

Made my Fiber Images hood look like new.

Well the duckbill was on the hatch when we made our trade, so i'm not gonna go and drop what $100 or more dollars on a part that i already have! i think that first off i'll see what can be done to get the fading out before i just throw around money that i don't have at this moment while being in college

^^ And to these guys that actually helped this thread out with some valuable knowledge, i will definately look into this before i just go out and buy a new duckbill
