what degree should i put my cam gear in? Should i retard it or advance it

i have a 97 civic ex

 

retard it and hook up the nitrous. hahaha. well seriously, what else is done to the motor?

we gotta know more about the engine dude, is it stock? then leave it the way it is.

 

rebuild head: cams, valves, springs, retainers, port match and port polish.
je pistons 11:0:1, eagle rods, eldebrock fuel pump, aem fuel rail, injectors, B&M fuel pressure regulator. Skunk2 intake, dc headers. and some cheap ebay cold air intake. Not fully build though work in progress!!!!!!!

 

I would take it to the dyno and let them figure it out.

i had the same question when i was building my motor. i was told if i'm going to spend x's amounts of money on my build the least thing i can do is buy a adjustable cam. it will help fine tune a wee bit more. as most of are we'll try to get every little bit of Hp w/ can squeeze out of our motors. and what an extra $100 give or take the money you spend on your motor.

 

I haven't gotten no none idea on how to not uncomprehend this thread.

read up on dynamic compression, and then ask yourself what to do with yo cam gears.
