Default Milling the head

I have a F22a4 and it is only 8.8:1 compression and would it be a goo investment to have the head milled so it was around 10:1 compession or not and what kind of HP would it add?

i dont think it would be a good investment, to boost comp that much you better mill an inch off the head, wouldnt work, look elsewhere to raise your compression ratio..

sounds like you may need to research alot more before you invest into something your not sure about. milling your head is not a reverable process if you wanted to revert back. and to go from 8:8 to 10:1 is a huge jump. your better off getting higher compression pistons that works for your block.

I don't think you could mill enough material off the head to get to 10:1 without the valves whacking the pistons.

Truthfully you won't see much gain going from 8.8:1 to 10:1 with no tuning. Maybe 10-15 hp? Not worth it IMO.

only true way to know your gains is a dyno. each app will vary. but my guess would be for every point of compression you could get 5-10 with proper tuning. if you bore out your cylinders it would yeild more displacement which yeilds more power.

there's no way you'll get that big of a bump in compression from a mill job. You're looking at 9.0:1 to 9.1:1 at the max.
