How does 0.03" sound? It will give you approx .9cc raise in compression and possibly render your head completely useless if you ever overheat and warp it.

If all you want is to raise compression. You would be better off saving your money and doing it properly with a set of pistons.

x2. Not worth the money spent on doing all the small things to raise compression by milling and replacing valves, as well as using thinner head gaskets to gain a small raise in compression. Changing up your pistons is so much easier since a lot of companies sell them notched and saves you the time of sending out your current ones to get notched, and aftermarket ones come in a huge variety of ratio's. That's just MHO

More like, if you overheat and warp it, you will have a whole
other 0.03" to mill until it requires welding.

i really don't know anything about milling the head. someone suggested i get the head resurfaced and then i saw something about getting the head milled. i'm guessing those are two unrelated things.

I agree with this.

What's your goal in milling the head if you're keeping everything stock?

milled/resurfaced is the same thing. Its how much you are taking off should be your concern. do you have scratches on it or what is your reason for doing this?

If your engine was overheated I would recommend replacing the head unless it passes the straightness test.

No there’re wasn’t any problems with it overheating or any head gasket issues…just the timing belt

Pulled the head to make sure the valves were ok, none of them were bent, and someone suggested I get my head resurfaced. Now if this is something I don’t need to do, then won’t.

Go up to whoever told you to pull the head to inspect the valves and kick him/her in the a$$. You could have determined if the valves were bent with a simple leak down test.
