Ok guys, my speedo was working before with my old gsr motor. Now with the new ls vtec turbo swap. Everythin works on cluster except speedo. Speedo doesnt move at all. We try using another vss and still doesnt budge. What could be the problem guys?? It is annoying without speedo especially with the power im pushing

 

You're SURE its not the VSS?

Check your grounds.

 

check the contacts of the plug for the VSS.. they corode after a while.

 

yea we tried using another vss. Doesnt work. Could a ground cause cel code?? Im using obd 1 p28 hondata s300

 

try a different ECU also..

 

i use obd 1 p72 chipped and it speedo works

 

My odometer and tripometer doesn't work either

 

Sounds like the VSS through and through. Especially since you say the odometer doesn't work.

 

try using a new cluster.............

 

try fuse

 

Plug the VSS in.

 

ok, im not sure if you figured it out, but considering the info you have set forth.. its the ECU. the P28 isnt working, but the P72 is... /thread

 

Its not the p28 ecu, because im using my friends p28 borrowing since it has hondata and my other p28 doesnt work. Come on guys its not my cluster because it was working with my old gsr swap. It started not to work with my new ls vtec motor with different gsr tranny itr lsd. Where is the fuse for speedo located??

did you try swapping the cluster at all?

edit: did you check the plug for corosion?

 

no why would i swap cluster?? My si cluster is fine. It was working fine before the swap. I didnt check plug for corrosion. How can you tell? Could it be the ecu fuse. Where is speedo fuse located?? Please help guys driving with no speedo is crazy

 

just things to cancel out.. it really could be something stupid though.. anyway, look in the plug where the pins are.. clean it out. if the ECU fuse was a dud, the car wouldnt start.. speedo fuse, i dont know of one. seriously, the only things i could possibly think it could be is:
-VSS
-ECU
-Cluster
-plug on harness

thats it.. there are only so many things.. re-check them all, maybe you missed somehting.
