Ohh god, just dropped off my car at acura. (WARING: VERY LONG)
Alright folks. Like i said before...I have a toda flywheel, ACT HDSS clutch/plate setup and a new tranny all at 1,300 miles on those new parts. I am hearing clutch chatter when I start from 0mph...if i slowly let off the clutch. If i give it more gas, and let go of the clutch fast, its fine. But...there is also like a "bump" feeling if im crusin, then let off the gas, then jab back at the gas. So i brought it to acura seeing how they work on my car alot, and have been very generous about the warrenty. The service guy there was an *** tho, thinkin im some punk kid who beats on my car. saying that he will charge me if they find out if the clutch is the cause of this. seeing how its an aftermarkert clutch. So i pulled out the paper I printed from advancedclutch.com and showd him that the chatter could be caused by the CV joints, the U joints and even the engine/tranny mounts. (guess he didnt think i was a punk kid no more) Then I told him NOT to drop the tranny. And if thry couldnt find the problem, that I will drop the tranny at my house, and work on it. He was like "Umm, ok" (which I might need some peeps from CT to help me out if it comes to it) so ya, I talked to the mechanic that always works on my car, and he said it prolly isnt the tranny or clutch. and I showed him my lil list too. (The seem to fix things faster when you give them specifics) I explaiend my problems to him, and also told them how I get 120miles for a tank of gas
So the service *** made me sign a paper saying that I have to pay $75.00 if they find out that the clutch is the problem (which they wont, because I told them not to drop the tranny
) So I was like whatever. I walked around to the waiting area, talked to my mom, she came over, talked to the service ***, then spoke with the service manager. I think they now better understand who I am. BTW, the service *** is some new guy in service . He is an ***. everyone else I talked to in service (which no longer works there) were very nice.
So ya, I will find out about my car tomorrow. If anyone has any ideas on this, let me know. Or if anyone is near me and willing to help me out if I need be, I would greatly appreciate it.

from what you are describing it sounds like it could be your clutch. My old clutch would chatter at low rpms, and even do the jump you are describing....only bad part of having a perf. clutch. Good luck anyways
I would hope its not my clutch, I babied the car after I got the new clutch and everything put in, I dont see why it could be the clutch.
i thought you didnt have a break in period for the act clutches. i didn't break in mine and was told there wasn't a break in period. everything is running fine still in the drivetrain area
dude, that chatter is normal. and YES, it is annoying. ive had my ACT HD 6puck clutch on for almost a year and it chatters like a bitch. it also does grab and jerk forward when you downshift. i think they might end up charging you $75.
alright, well....If its normal, and they dont find anything wrong with stuff like the cv joins or anything. Ill just have my mom argue with them about the money, heh. Cause it also went up there for poor fuel economy
did they find out what was the prob w/ ur poor gas mileage??
i have ACT SS clutch w/ no probs.
u should ask that mechanic if he will do work on the side for u.

thought about that too. I just talked to ACT, they explained that a lil chatter is normal. And that I should look into some poly motor mounts. So anyone got ideas where I could get some?
BTW: they are VERY friedly and helpfull at ACT

Ohh great...Just got back from acura. They found nothing wrong with my fuel system, They ran it threw there emmissions thing, and it was fine. All sensors work and everything. So I dont get it...120 miles per tank...whats wrong here guys? I got new plugs, so that cant be it....any other ideaS?
As for the clutch, i talked to ACT, and they said its normal for it to chatter a lil, so whatever. But they suggested some motor mount inserts, Which ill get soon. We all agree that energy supression makes the best? heh

I had specific printed on a sheet of paper. My car was 16's at the track and I had just gotten major, I mean major work done. New bottem end. A friend of mine ASE certified just looked at the car. Told me exactly what was wwong with the car, valves were so loud, timing was retarded 10 degrees on the distributor and they adjusted all the vavles. I told them to give me a vehilce history report b/c I was going to pursue them lemon law.
When I picked it up my car ran perfect, that was yesterday. I think if you give them specifics then it works better.

clutch chatter on a clutch without springs is normal. the springs in the normal clutch absorb the chatter that you feel now.
oh yeah, and stupid *** things can drastically affect your gas mileage. i had dodge neon snow tires/rims on my car for the winter (completely wrong size, too small i believe), and as soon as i put my new wheels and tires on after winter i got 70 more miles per tank! also, putting the silencer on my car seems to take up more gas than just letting it expel out of the racing medallion.
chatters normal with heavy clutch's. i would find a nother dealer(i know...not a whole lot here in ct) and have them check out your fuel economy problem. as for the mounts, you can try place racing. they make new poly mounts. these are replacement mounts and not inserts. or go the cheap route and use the energy suspension mount inserts. i got the place racing mounts. havnt installed em in my car yet, but felt a civic with them and a b18c1 and they felt fine when rolling and shifting....felt a little vibrations at idle. i would go with those if you have any plans for more power later on.
