Im building a sohc z6 motor and its time to finish the bottom end. i jsut have to put the oil pump on and the rear main seal on. the unit of each. Is there a specific gasket that goes inbetween the oil pump and the block or should i use hondabond ht? same with the rear main seal side.

any and all imput welcomed.

 

I do the same..

I reused the original joint ring. and I add sealing paste...

It looks fine... But I haven't got oil pressure when the oil is warm.. This problem was detected before the oil pump removed.. So not the ring is the problem...

The rear main seal is just drifted in no need for any kind of sealent on it. I used a large socket and hammer a little tappy tappy tappy and it went into place.

 

use Hondabond for the oil pump

Hondabond between the machined faces of the oil pump, the rear main seal bracket, and the block. Don't forget the o-ring for the oil pump discharge.
