Having E-brake Problems.......Help!!!!
ok, the button on my e-brake will not sit right, it jams in all the time and when you pull the brake up the button disapears into the handle, and its very very loose when its pulled, you can just flick it almost and it will undo itself.
i dont know if replacing the handle would help or if its an actual brake problem, and how would i go about replacing the handle?
thanks in advance.

sounds like the internals on the handle is screwed. doesnt want to catch like it should.
soon as you puul after about an inch should start to click and feel cable drag. without having to push button. to release slightly pull some and push button.

Take the center console out. You can see very easily if it's a problem with cable having too much slack, or if the housing is separated from the piece that grabs. That's what it sounds like, but an inspection after removing the console will tell you for sure.

if it was the cable having too much slack, then i believe the Ebrake would NOT grab hard enough and you'll have to pull the handle up really high..you will prob be able to push the car even if ebrake is engaged....happen to me before and can fix with the adjustment bolt that you see after removing the console..
