82mm CTR pistons questions
i understand that NPR of japan and safety auto parts sells 82mm CTR replicas.
does anyone know the specs on these pistons? what im asking for is if anyone knows what compression height these "copies" carry? are they the standard 1.181 honda CH or 2.211 CH just like a original CTR piston? this makes a huge difference in compression with .030 adjustment there.
somebody get back at me. i cant find specs anywhere.

i mean dont get me wrong he wasnt unknowledgable but that 30 thou is the difference between the CTRs and the ITRs period.
he did say he would never put CTRs in a street car because of backing timing out. well no **** but then again you dont know if your dealing with a decked block, milled head, etc etc. i didnt catch the guys name but bottom of the line was i didnt get the answer i was looking for. therefor ill take my business elsewhere.

A crude way is to have what ever supplier that has both ITR and CTR pistons to put both pistons on the same pin and measure any CH difference. This will get you a rough idea if it's the same CH or 0.010, 0.020, etc higher.

the company that makes those replicas ctr also make replica b16a2 pistons (which is slightly higher comp than the usdm/jdm itr pistons) which I can get for $180 with rings here in houston, unfortunate for us the company also sell the ctr replicas exlusively to RS only, so the only way to get the ctr replicas is through RS....and to answer your question, the dome heigh on those oversize ctr replicas is the same as the oem standard size ctr piston
excellent info even though i figured that out.
are you referring to safety auto parts?
the ones RS uses for their B16 piston is based on a PR3 piston not a P30 piston. originally when RS was selling these they had advertised them as a P30 piston which once people had ordered their piston and got a piston that said PR3 they were slightly peeved.
