OK, my mini-me is coming close to being finished
I have a 2000 CX with 53K miles on her
Y7 with a Y8 head on it, vtec solenoid is there

Parts laying in my apt...

97 Y8 IM (5 speed) Fuel rail and injectors and hoses are on
98 Y8 TB with MAP and TPS sensors
2-wire IACV (still need to get some bolts to attach to the IM)
Chipped P28
OBD2 > OBD1 harness
DC 4-1 header
header, IM, and TB gaskets

Still need TB cable... what all will fit?
what else should I have ready before I do this swap?

Yeap, you have everything to get it up and running except for a new headgasket. It'll be a good idea to change water pump too.

well the head is already on the car, and HAS been on the car for like, 20K miles

People have been telling me to get a thinner gasket, but I dont wanna put my compression up very much. I just wanna put a little more pep in my hatchy =P

I will be doing an oil change, and replacing my oilpan gasket (cause I think it might be leaking a little) *shrug*

A new intake manifold and throttle body gasket. You can use your stock y7 throttle cable.

and more than likely the conversion harness was made for an EX model, so you are going to need to make a couple wireing changes at the ecu for the 2 wire iacv. and make sure you use the right throttle body gasket. use the one that matches the throttle body, not the intake.

If you read the first post, I listed the parts that I have... some of those parts include a new intake manifold and throttle body gasket.

And the Y7 Throttle cable, from what I hear, is extremely long, and its better to swap it

I got my ECU and Harness from Phearable.net, hopefully I dont have to make many changes to it. Good thought though... I'll look into it

Yeah, I am all for doing it right the first time, hence the creation of this thread

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to pick up a gasket this/next week.

Yeah? I have no idea what kind of power gain to expect... some people are saying 20-30whp
I know the Y7 is putting a hurtin on my performance, but it's nice when I travel back to my parents house. I've been looking at the LSD D15 tranny off and on. It would definately help out in AutoX and the strip

My current setup only pulls a 16.5 @ 80 with a 2.3 60ft

OK, so I'm looking around for head gaskets... any good recommendations on where to buy?
What thickness should I get?

I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure what a lot of people do is buy regular Y8 gaskets and take out the middle layer.

That'll give you like .3+ on the CR.

It's a nice little bump if you already have the head off, I'd do it - you're not going to need higher octane gas because of it.

Sounds good

I'm just going to assume that getting the gasket from HOP is going to be pricey, anywhere I should check before I go to them?
