Default Stock fuel system, can I drive my car?

I havent gotten my FMU yet and am running stock injectors. All I need to do is go get the downpipe made and the BOV welded on. Will I be OK driving it lightly to the shop or will something bad happen?

i think you might of rushed the turbo install. you should of had everything ahead of time... but let me try to be helpful. dont ever have more then 20% of the throttle pressed down and you might be okay. your gas mileage will suck a fat one... but thats the least of your worries.

I believe this happened to someone else here on HT. Their motor blew

If you must, drive VERY VERY lightly to the shop. Don't press the gas more than 20% like Sushibug said. As I'm sure you know, fuel is very important in turbo cars. Fuel = . No fuel = BANG!

I just disconnected the intake pipe from the intake manifold so I wasn't boosting and it drove fine. Damn the turbo whine sounds nice...

i might be mistaken, but you can not do that. someone in the past explained how there was an issue with load. your engine is not being damaged, but your turbo is... because it is spinning at uncontrolled speed since there is nothing to stop it. once again... i just woke up... but i read a thread about something very similar to this... i dont know if this is the case... im going to back to sleep now cuz im still dizzy.

Well, if you still have your wastegate on, it should be fine. Boost is still going in....it's just that it's not going all the way into the intake. Should be fine.

Make sure your WG is connected and working though. Is your WG opening? Can you hear it?

I don't hear the wastegate opening.. but then again I dont know what it sounds like. I would probably know it if it was opening eh? So I guess its not? It might be stuck open a tad, because to attatch the wastegate arm to the level, I had to slightly pull it. I dunno though, it seemed to drive fine. The turbo would boost accordingly to the RPM.

I don't think the wastegate is supposed to open because it requires vacuum for it to pull the wastegate rod and open it up, and since the charge pipe to the intake manifold is hanging off, there is no sealed vacuum thus no opening of the wastegate.
