Jdm shift boots...and getting shift knob back to normal...?

Default Jdm shift boots...and getting shift **** back to normal...?

this one is mine


how do i get it to sit like this one (pointing down)



and is their a certain way to screw the shift **** back on, to make it straight? do i have to tighten the bolt below the shift **** alot more? its all the way down, i can get it with my hands, havent pulled tools on it yet...

you've gotta tighten the nut against the ****. the nut won't go all the way down and let you line the **** up straight.

hold the **** straight, tighten nut against it. i'm forget what size it is.

no no no.. I IMed him...

The nut that is under the **** is holding up the boot in his picture. He needs to take the boot back off and take the nut off. Then slide the boot on. then put the nut on and the adjust accordingly


Or at least thats how it looks to me...

Use a adjustable wrench, but wrap a towel around the nut to prevent maring/scratching it.

if i remember correctly... the nut is size 12...
i wrapped the nut w/ electrical tape before adjusting it.... it worked good..

Push down on the ring on the shift boot until it stops, than push a little bit harder and it will lock into place

can some tell me what size hex nut that is suppose to be used, 12mm or a 14mm?

So 00-01 Shifters are polished? I guess 97-98's are black. Ghey.
