Default del Sol B16A2 Swap ECU questions

hi everyone.. i just bought a new project.. a mint condition 93 del Sol S.. im looking to swap out the lazy 1.5 non-VTEC for a JDM B16 A2.. ive done a little research and still cant find any info on how to convert the RHD ecu for use in the USDM..and obviously my stock computer doesnt have the VTEC wiring so idk what to do... and lastly what is the approximate installation cost(assuming i already have the complete swap)..thanks

Just reuse your stock harness. Wire up VTEC solenoid, pressure switch, and knock sensor. Run a P30 ECU.

the ecu will work.

and a shop is going to charge roughly a grand to do the entire swap for you.

if you drop the motor in yourself theyll charge you about 200 to wire it up.

i just finished my first swap, and believe it or not it was a jdm b16 into a 94 del sol s and it wasnt that bad.

only problem i had was wiring vtec and a shops doing it for me for 150.

even without vtec it pulls hard compared to the shitty d15 that was in it

you'll probably get a little bit better gas milage with the p30. But it wont be quite as quick.

Here's the deal, having owned 3 sols with multiple swaps in each, and having done over 30 swaps altogether, you have nothing to worry about.
Use the p30. You'll love it.
Aside from that, all 93 del sols are wired for vtec.
The only thing you'll have to do is add the wiring for the knock sensor.
If you want to use stock harness from your d15, do it. Get a spare harness so you can pull some pins. You'll have to find the pins on the plug at the shock tower for vtec and wire them up. The EASIER solution is to get an engine harness from del sol si, 92-95 civic si or ex. It already has the wiring for vtec. Plug and play.
Then add the wiring for the knock sensor and you're done. End of story.
Aside from that, you just need the engine, tranny, ecu, mounts, and shift linkage from a del sol vtec (or cut and reweld a set from any other B series car). Get mounts and you're done.
