5 main gridle
i was blueprinting an all motor build, and i was talking to this guy at the local shop and for some reason he was really tring to sell me on this 5 Main Gridle, saying how good it would be for my build (which is basicly a 230+weekend b18c, sleeved, stroked, high comp., 9k rev limit.
So is this guy telling the truth, or just tring to make his monthy quota, and if i do need it please let me know the importants. thanx

IMO not necessary..
but if you got money to burn, it's not a bad thing to have.
i would think it would be more necessary in a setup a little more hardcore.
that sleeving company in indiana (i forget their name) makes a good one.
edit: you are sleeved AND stroked. hmm...IMO i would get it just for piece of mind.

if i was stroked revin to 9k i would look into it. Spoon uses a block girdle that is similar on thier B16B that revs to the moon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rl8T9KFgjWc
Funtion 7 makes some that run about $450

your B18C already has a main girdle....no need to buy another one......even if it does "support" the other 2 main caps.
you wont me making enough power to flex the mains that much.....if any at all.....and the OEM one is perfectly fine.

Steve, you really need to learn how to read. Not Mac Griddle! Main Girdle! Well ...er...main gridle...?
The three main cap girdle that comes stock on the GSR and the ITR will be plenty strong for your application.
