Default 1998 Accord has water in the trunk need help

I just bought a 1998 accord lx. When it rains I get water in my trunk. Has anyone had this problem? The trunk seal looks fine. The inner lights that are attached to the trunk lid looks like they have condensation in them. I can't figure out how the water is getting into the trunk. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I had the same problem on my 98 coupe. I replaced the trunk weatherstripping and it stopped.

you probably need to replace the seals on the lights.
The easiest way is to have a someone shut in the trunk and spray water around it to see where it's coming in.

Thanks guys I did a little research last night and it sounds like the rear light seals go bad on these cars. Thanks again

im like 6foot tall 200lbs, and i fit in the trunk comfortably enough to see whereever if theres water coming in, just fold down the seatback and climb in, and have ur buddy spray the car...

the wierd thing is though, i had a little pool of water in my tunk too, the carpet wasnt wet, so idk where it cam from it just mysteriosly showed up when i was rotating tires (i dont have jack stands so i mount the donut while switching tires)

Yep, fold down the rear seat and sort of lay back in there while somebody is spraying it with a hose.

I'm not talking about opening that little door back there (behind the center armrest), the rear seat folds foward. You'll need to put your key in the back keyhole (the one on the back back dash, between the two speakers).
