Default f20a4 tuning

hey new on here, and owner of 4th gen with f20.

my mate told me there was a guide for things that can be swapped from the h23 or h22 onto the f20, had a look but cant find it.

does anyone know where the thread is? or even know what fitts the f20?

thanks

Is your F20 a DOHC or just a single? (I am pretty sure it is a SOHC)

We do not normally sport an F20 here in the US so there is limited information as to what fits. For heavy Preludes or Accords we generally use the F22A, H23A and H22A since they have more torque and we do not have taxes based on engine displacement.

If it is a SOHC then anything for the F22A should work for the head, springs, retainers, cam etc.. But the block is pretty unique around here (88mm stroke) so there's very little aftermarket support.

If it is DOHC I am pretty sure that you can use anything for the H23A nonVTEC. I am running a JDM F22B DOHC head on on my block and have all sorts of H23 equipment currently employed.

I'd like to say that you can use the exhaust manifold from an H23 on the F20 but IIRC the F20's have the oxygen sensor in front of the engine and the H23 has it behind. But that is a simple matter of extending the wire to the harness.

You can track down a user Zigenballz on here or CB7tuner.com and he has a decent amount of experience with imported F18s and F20s I am sure that he could lend assistance.

hey cheers for the quick response and advice. yea its the sohc, lol a slow lump in the lude only 133hp.

think i found the thread he was talking about
https://honda-tech.com/zero...22289
it says in that about using h23 intake manifold and header and gaining alot more power.
anyone know of this?

it states- "with prelude bb3 f20a4 has these mods and your car runs as fast as an prelude si (bb2) with 160 hp"
id be happy enough gaining an extra 27 odd horse jus for those mods.

There's quite a few people with F22A SOHC eninges that are swapping over to the h23 manifolds.

I (sort of) have the DOHC version fo the F22 but it is running H23 IM and H23 DC stainless exhaust with 2.5" collector modification. I seem to be making a bit of power but I have quite a few other mods that would make TÜV blanch. You should be able to do pretty much the same with your F20.

Upgrading the intake manifold with throttle body, the header/exhaust and the camshaft to a high lift regrind with spring and retainers woud help your power department (but try to keep the same cam duration to pass emissions). The most you can do in my opinion is to upgrade the cam and get the compresion up to 11.5:1. that should increase your torque across the board and subsequently your power. Just don't forget to tune whatever you do.
