Default ~ Project CRX Track Wh0re!!

Well I decided to go ahead and start my first built thread. This is by no means my first build, but first of this kind.

I decided to put boost in my past, and will be going NA with this one. Ive done the whole straight line fast thing a few tims before, but now I need a change. As well as hopes to run some serious track days at VIR and maybe some other tracks aswell, it will remain a 'street' car. So nothing too too over done, but just a good, fun, properly function car all around is my goal.

Here is the pic pre-teardown...

Interior...

The moneyshot...

As of tonight...

-ALL rear interior panels out
-Headliner out
-Dash out
-Heat/cooling unit(s) outt
-Other misc. items out now aswell
-Need dry ice to rid myself of the sound deadening!!!

Plans:
-B20vtec (semi built bottom end with an RLZ b16 head)
-Full cage
-GOOD suspension setup
-Enkei RPF-1's
-STACK cluster (I hope)
-etc..

Overview- Im going to build a good all around car, built to be a track *****, but mild/simple enough to drive it on the street.

Updates asap!

Up next...
-Motor getting pulled
-Sound deadinging out/giving it a diet
-Rollcage

Thanks for looking

Thanks guys!

Yea VIR will be awesome. Ive almost thought about becoming a 'member' up there so I can go to all the track events But first things first haha.

Question right quick...

What is the best way or getting rid of this:

I just dont know what I should do about the hoses that run into the motor iteslf...How can I plug them at the motor so it out?

What should I do??

Remove the hose clamps and twist then pull hoses off (cut if need be). There is also one 12mm nut in the middle of the firewall on the hoses' side that must be removed. All that would leave is the 10mm bolts in the cabin area and pull it out.

What do I do about the motor though, like where the other ends of the hoses goes into it? Like Ill obviously have to plug them correct? What can I/should I use?

Thanks.

the hoses that come from the motor, just make it as one and connect the 2 using one... (if im not confusing you that is, thats how it was on my parts car when i got it...)

other than that. looks like a REALLY clean car, cant wait to see more, keep up good work!

Exactly what I did once. Just a loop-back from one to the other.

I would like a custom one done, but I dont know where around my area to get it done at. BlueCrxNC, I see that you are also from NC...you happen to know any good cage builders?

If not, Ive heard good things from the Kirkracing cages, so that would be option B.

Hmm...any specific hose that needs to be use? Or will a flex rad. hose from like napa or something work?

first, i've done exactly what you're trying to do... build a track car. Learn from my mistakes. And what I ended up with

I had no goal of building towards a particular class or race. I wanted a fun, fast, semi-affordable track day car. I now have one.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by NA_Star1 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">What do I do about the motor though, like where the other ends of the hoses goes into it? The outlet for the heater goes to a pipe under the distibutor. The inlet for the heater comes from behind the thermostat housing. Use either one long hose with a 45/90 elbow... or use the two hoses, cut them to length, then join them with a pipe. .

Won't hurt it at all. I've been doing it for what seems like six years now.

and removing the heater core... just pull, yank, and unbolt stuff. it'll come out. have fun!

Wow, thanks for the links Driven!

That will help alot

Due to crappy weather progress is slow. Next weekend though, Ill be pulling to motor out, and driving down to RLZ to drop it off to get the build started.

Here is the only "update" I have as of now...
