Nearly two years in the making for the GSR rebuild... it's done. At least for now.

For the bragging rights:

and for the actual end tune:

Notable things:
- i have no air/fuel tuning except for fuel pressure regulator
- I'm running a stock CRX HF fuel pump (255lph coming)
- it was 97 degrees and 2400' altitude
- Mustang dynos apparently read lower than dynojets...

the air/fuel line made a huge W on the graph. at VTEC switchover, the air/fuel jumped up to 13.9, then dropped back down to 12.2 a few hundred RPMs later.
At around 7700rpms, it would shoot back up to 13.2-13.5.

Cliff Notes:
Uncorrected WHP: 197whp@8455rpm -- Tuned it down to 192whp@8000rpm.
Uncorrected TQ: 131ft-lbs@5721rpm -- Tuned down to 128ft-lbs@5700rpm.

Corrected WHP: 217whp@8455rpm
Corrected TQ: 144ft-lbs@5721rpm

The car was tuned to allow a more usable powerband. Dr Dennis at LDL could have made the engine dyno higher... but I need a powerband that makes as much power as possible under the graph not one that makes 220+ at 8700rpms, but only makes 150 at 7500rpms.
I also wanted as much torque as I could get for as long as I could. so, I have 120ft-lbs from 5400rpms to 8300rpms.

There are still some more minor things to do to make sure all is well, but for the time being, I'm happy. With the quiaffe and the power... it pulls out of the corners hard.

Very nice setup & #'s. Alot of people don't realize that (what's in bold) and shoot for the highest # up top that just kills the mid to low end. Tune for your driving purpose

exactly... a lot of people like to tune their car so it has the highest HP figure and leave it... even if it is at their rev limit.

Plus, If I tune it down where my max HP is at a lower RPM... i can shift earlier, which makes it easier on the engine and run cooler

What seems to be the use-able amount of lock in the LSD?

Any break-in tips?

I'm getting my hands on the same unit, for the same purpose. (non-straight line driving)

Nice work.

That looks like solid build that makes great power. I bet that is an absolute blast to drive on the track. I need to build me a better engine one of these days.

Good luck with the race!

Nice build! I remember seeing your old numbers, and thinking they were a tad low. Now after the build you have got yourself a Very strong engine!
Good Job Kam

Yessir.

Thanks guys for the compliments. I really didn't do much except send out the checks to the people i bought the parts from. Dr. Dennis at LDL put it all together and tuned it for me.

now, if i win the ***** Challenge... then I might take some credit. with the Quaife LSD and the new power, I should be able to put some awesome times down at LVMS's club course and hopefully break into the 12s at the drag strip.

I'm really just trying to beat my friend's Z31 which he's been building up as well:

Z31s are HARD. i dont care what anyone says, that is the whitetrash import car of choice. if there were trailer parks in japan theyd be packed with Z31s i bet. the way they squat under acceleration is functional yet comical. and what other import has an off the shelf 350 chevy mount kit? Z31 FTMFW
