Default Cataletic Converter Question

Will it hurt your car to take out your Cataletic converter and just replace it with a peace of pipe? Especially if its bad? lol

Doesn't seem like he's trying to gain power, just has a bad cat and wondering if it'll effect his car if he replaces it with a test pipe/pipe. Weather or not he's trying to take a cheap way out and not replace it with another cat, I don't know, but that's irrelevent. No, it won't hurt your car, but it will hurt the Earth and change your exhaust sound a 'lil bit.

Straight pipe may give you like 2-5 WHP if that...

Yeah, i know. I'd rather get a high flow Cat anyways.

Get a high flow cat. Unless you already have a high horsepower car, a test pipe won't give you that much horsepower. In close to stock preludes, the difference between a high flow cat and a test pipe MIGHT be 1 whp.
