running a virgin P28 on a B16A with 12:1 compression???
I was told my P28 ecu will run a OBD1 B16A until I can get it chipped, but would this work safely on a 12:1 compression motor for a short time?
I remember the old setup I was running with the same engine was leaning out on a stock OBD0 PR3 ecu.

I personally wouldn't do it. Not for a 12:1. It would run lean as a bitch.
If anything, I'd run a P13 or something that at least runs a little richer..

dont do it. if you just built the motor then dont start it up with a stock p28, it will run lean and the rings wont seat in properly
thanks for the input, i'm sending my spare p06 ecu in for a conversion & blind tune chip today. I guess it's worth the 100$ to be safe
Personally i wouldnt even run it on a base map. If the compression goes any higher then stock its not worth it and just better to tow the car to a dyno or if anything street tune it with a wideband.
well the only time it wasn't running good was steady throttle on the highway, it would start to lean out and sputter. I only drove it like that once to tell you the truth. It was mainly my weekend racer, and had about 3k on the build before it was totalled at a street race.
after winning the race, I saw traffic was coming down the road ahead so I slowed down and was rear ended by the person i was racing.. spun out of control and got t-boned on my passenger side by the oncoming traffic.. needless to say I was fine, but the girl with me ended up with a lawsuit against me and the other guy.. a few years later i'm ready to put the engine in my new car after a hard lesson learned.. "don't play on public roads!"
