The motor is not getting in to VTEC.

The speedometer doesnt work, and a local tuner shop told us that the speedometer has something to do with the VTEC not working?

Where is the Speedometer sensor located?
They told us you open the hood (auto tranny by the way) and look at where the transmission and engine meet up and somewhere under the distributor is the sensor.

Is this correct?
We cant find it!

 

Look straight down from the point where the throttle body meets the air snorkle tube, it has a 3 wire connector going to the top of the differential housing.

Yes, I do believe the VSS is important to helping the V-Tec system work correctly

 

The speed sensor was replaced, VTEC NOW WORKS!!

BUT...
After a couple of test runs on the freeway... we stopped and turned around to head a diffrent direction, on the way to a friends house, it stopped working!
The transmission when at WOT would only go to 4k and then change gears very early... But we let the car sit for a while and all of a sudden that problem went away and so far so good and its working again.
