srs light flashes when clutching? what gives?
Today on the way to work, starting just right out of the driveway my srs light was bugging out. Flashing intermittently. I live in Mass and the weather has been all over the place the last few weeks. This morning being one of the coldest. I let the car warm up a bit outside the house, while i tried to deal with the issue of my parking brakes freezing engaged (which overtime loosen up to the point where I finally had resistance in the pbrake when I pulled up)... back to the issue at hand. For about 10+ minutes on the first leg of my drive to work my srs light would flash every time and any time i stepped on the clutch. does anyone have any idea why this would happen. the srs system has to do with the airbags, not the clutch or the transmission, right?
There is a series of wires that run by your clutch that are inside of a yellow loom for your srs. Thes are probably caught on your pedal return spring.
the spring comes awfully close to the bundle. im hoping that was it. ill zip tie it out of the way to make sure. im going to take a closer look later and make sure everything is where it should be. thanks!
