Overloading OEM oil pump?
alright guys i have a question.
I've been putting together a built B16 motor. Goal is to make 500-550whp. The set-up i have going is:
B16A3 block
-GE goldzilla sleeves
-bored to 84mm
-O-rings
-Arias 9.1 pistons
-Eagle Rods
-OEM rings
-All new ACL bearings
-chamfered and micro polished crank
-Balanced rotating assembly
-ITR oil pump
-ITR water pump
B16 head
-Port and polished
-port matched OEM IM .... I'll get a nicer one once I have a little more money. I think the port matched OEM one will flow fine for 500whp.
-GSR cams
Now here's my question. So the block that i have didnt have a factory oil cooler on it. Like most of the Bseries have a oil cooler thing that goes on the block before the oil filter that has coolant lines that goes into it. I'm going to run an Oil Filter Relocation kit. I want to run the line that leads the oil out of the block through an oil cooler then run it into the filter so then Clean and cooled oil goes back into the motor. The oil source for the turbo will come off the oil pressure port.
Am i overloading the OEM ITR oil pump by having it run the oil all the way from the back of the block through like 6-7ft of 1/2" oil lines to the front of the car, through the oil cooler, through the oil filter. then back into the motor?
Also any recomendation on a good turbo that will do 550whp on a 84mm B16 and is not too laggy? I've been looking at GT35Rs but they're out of my price range. I'm kind of leaning towards the T3/60-1 or the T3/T67.
thanx

As long as you are using -10 or larger line and all 1/2 NPT ports it will be fine. A cheap 3/8 NPT sandwich plate won't work (well it will but won't flow enough). I have a huge remote filter and a 25 row Mocal oil cooler in my Integra with no issues. I have logged several hundred hours of rally stages and track time with successful results. Oil temps are as much as 60*C cooler with the cooler.
