Default JRSC GSR

Help this kiddooo H-T

Well im puttin A JRSC on my gsr motor and
i was just wondering about some things. 8psi
Rc440
tune on crome

What Kinda of Spark Plugs should i use for my setup?
i was thinking some Ngk iridium.

Also what do i do with the Map sensor cause im kind of unsure.
My tunner told me to leave the stock one on the throttle body and
get another map sensor and get a hose and plug it to the manifold?

I dont need the Knock sensor? I was told when i tune it wont be needed.

Also is there anything else i should do?

when i had a jrsc, on a ls, i took the map of the TB and put a bolt in the stock hole, and ran the map off the intake manifold (jrsc manifold, after the charger). as far as plugs went i was told 2 head ranges colder. i think the stock NGKs are a 5 range, i ran a 7 range.

you can use the ngk bkr7e-11 plugs. you can get one of those firewall mounted map sensors to use as the actual map sensor, and just leave the stock one on the throttle body to act as a plug. the knock sensor can be turned off in crome so it is not needed. you might want to get a new lower pulley, the one in the pic looks worn.

the one on the lower alternator bracket that has the silver groove on the pulley.

Just use copper NGK plugs... cheaper and better...

As for your map sensor, you can buy a relocator plug from LHT or Jackson racing and mount it the map sensor on your firewall or somewhere else.

Get a good tune!!

For 8psi, I suggest getting a stepper pulley from either Endyn or Jim at Motorvations.

Plenty of supercharged guys here who are more than willing to help and don't forget about the huge S/C thread here.

Have fun with you charger!!

you do not want to run irridium plugs at all on a JRSC motor.

NGK 7s will work perfectly. (like was said before)

bkr7eix-11 is a step too cold for a mild boost set up. stock is a 5, so ideally you'd want to run a 6 ( bkr6eix-11)

advanced autoparts stocking # 6988 lol.

theres nothing wrong with the 7s... if you have a strong enough ignition system it probibally runs fine.... you'll just get a little better burn with the 6s

Get a motorolla 2.5bar map sensor from digikey.com (mpx4250ap), have your tuner wire/program that in there with crome. Its $15+6 shipped.

As for the knock sensor, the stock knock sensor can't retard timing fast enough (on a boosted motor) to have much effect. You'll blow it up before it really starts working. The key is to have it tuned conservatively enough to stay away from detonation.

Thanks for the info. I'm at 10psi, stock ignition expect plug wires, but have aem ems if that matters. 6's still good for me? Sorry to thread jack.

So much incorrect info here.

A colder plug does not need a "stronger" ignition. Colder plugs simply have less insulation and therefore dissipate heat faster.

A stock GSR plug is a 6. Just go with a 7 and gap accordingly.
