92 check engine/no start

92 check engine/no start
I just purchased a 92 LS and there is a problem with the starting. When you put the key in and try cranking it will crank but not start due to a check engine light. However, if you leave the car with the key sitting in the ACC position for 5 to 10 mins, the check engine light will go away and it will start no problem. I've narrowed it down to a problem in the starter input circuit, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and could give me so insight on what to check.
