Considering Engine Swap
Hey everyone, I am trying to find an engine swap for my 92 Si that would be both cheap and speedy. Everywhere I look I hear B16, B18, H22, but the one that caught my eye, and which I have heard the least about, is the B20B CRVTEC. For those unfamiliar with this, I read that it is a combination of B series parts, like the B20 long block w/ the B16 head & ECU. If anyone has heard more about this or has any links that would help me learn more about this, plz let me know.

yeah your surrounded by info u just are lazy to read the top sticky's or search its asked atleast a couple times a day.
In my oppinion, you should (depending on what car you have) swap a d16zc(dohc version),or d15b,d16z6. then depending on your budget, boost it or build it and boost it. much cheaper and and more power than a b-series until you hit the 400whp mark, then the other series of motors start to take over cause they can go higher than that.

A simple mistake, but just to let you know...
Longblock = block and head
Shortblock = block only.
So you would mean to say a B20 block, and a B16 head.

And a motor is only as reliable as its built. There is much to learn before going into something like this. I think there was a post on here before where people said they've never seen one last over 30k miles. But hey..most people end up choosing another setup before they hit that mark anyways, so go whichever route you want to but you'll find many on here that will decide against it for thier own reasons.

Yeah, I was gonna mention the same thing (about long block vs short block).
Just FYI @ OP:
B20's have weak(er) bottom ends. So if you plan on beating the **** outta it, it may not be the block for you.

you won't be able to cheap and speedy
its either expensive and fast
or cheap and slow
with that said on a basic swap like gsr they are barley able to hang with traffic there are so many faster cars coming off the production line and its getting more expensive just to be able to catch up but i would definitly go with the gsr its pretty strong and easy
