Default What does it take to Rev 9500k + ?

Hey guys, this is my setup so far:

83mm Sleeved b18b + crank
CP's
Carillo's

Head:
GSR
Supertech Springs + Retainers

What else would I need in order to safely rev above 9.5k?

id go with valves as well, just to be on the safe side. and if youre really weary then maybe manley locks and ferrea guides. im not sure how high supertech springs and retainers are rated for, but i know that ferrea and indy can rev to about 11k ish

would GSR cams in a b16 head with supertech valves, springs and retainers make that?

84mm GE sleeves
CP pistons
MAnley Rods

you probably stop making power at 8200 or so depending on the turbo you go with. why do you want to rev it to 9500?

you should also get a block girdle, thats if you dont already have one. IMO wouldn't spin a b18b to 9500 without one.

t3/67 H.O. is what I was going to run. I know I'm going to need a large powerband with that turbo, so I wanted to be safe to rev high enough.

my peak power was 520 on the last plot that i printed at 9800, rev valvetrain with gsr cams. granted it was a b16, i hope my maz cams are up to the task of 11k he hee.

The only way it made power till 9900 was because you had massive boost creep, I'd like to see the dyno graph of that.

I guess the point of this post, is not to increase the power that the motor is seeing, but to make sure that the motor would be able to see the revrange that I wanted. Unfortunately not many of you have actually answered the question, just talking about where your power fell off, which doesn't really help me. Do you think that the Block girdle would be a good investment? The block is at the machine shop right now, so adding the main girdle now would be the best time to. Also, do you think the supertech springs/retainers will handle the occasional 9.5k pull?

id recomend block girdle + main studs(z10 girdle/aebs studs)

balance and polish the crank

definitly upgrade the springs and retainers. also a cam with specs "larger" than gsr will help you make a more useable powerband.

also, a good harmonic balancer (ATI superdamper) will help keep your oil pump in one piece
