Default Any Benefits To Building My Head?

My block has been done up, pistons, rods etc. Tuned with uberdata. Are there any benefits to getting valves, springs, retainers, cams and port and polish? I was told that I dont really need to do those since Im tuned. Any thoughts?

I dont really get what being tuned has to do with building your head. The car should never be un-tuned, built head or not. The springs and retainers will let you rev the motor higher. If, and only IF, your setup is still making power up top this will help you. Depending on what cams your running there may be room for upgrades there. Port work will always help make some power, how much is the question. Most of the time on a mild setup you'd be better off to just up the boost a few pounds and get the power your looking for for free.

Basically i see headwork as a last resort to make some more power, only after the rest of your engine/turbo setup is up to par. Better cams will help, and springs and reatiners will let you rev higher, but you should make sure your setup can utilize it first.

edit: If the car your talking about is the one in your sig, you have many other things to consider before headwork...

Yea theres plenty of things I would upgrade before i started doing cylinder head work, a stock vtec head flows quite a bit... and Im pretty sure your setup wouldnt benifite much from revving any higher.

You got a built bottom end... get some bigger injecotrs, up the boost, tune it, and have some fun!
