So i switched out my shortram for an AEM cold air intake and ever since there is this whistling noise in 2nd gear. Is it from the intake or is something now wrong with my car??

its a combination of your air filter and throttle body. Its normal for it to whistle at certain throttle positions. Im just waiting for all the idiots who are gonna post after me saying that it is this and that. Sigh

 

cause it's cold outside? mine does it when it's cold.

 

its normal when it makes that whistle sound.

Yup. I took the cover off my stock air box and it did it.

when i had an aem cai on my ls it did not whistle.

 

It is normal and annoying, I switched to the Comptech Icebox since I couldn't take it anymore. Too bad my car rattles like a tank anyway!

 

ive owned both a short ram and cold air on my DC4, and both whistled , but the short ram is a louder whistle, plus more top end power, SRI IMO..

 

yea my intake whistles too, its all good though, its normal

 

It whistles around 2k for me.

 

Actually short ram will whistle more than a cold air, but it's a very common thing for you to hear the whistle.

you should have heard my buddies CAI on his neon R/T.... that thing was louder than a fkin blowoff valve. all the noobies at our high school thought he was running a turbo. nah, just the CAI. lol.

I usto trip when I would hear the whistling noise as well untill I asked it on HT. They told me it was normal. So its koo... Stay up... peace
