which tranny fluid to use? GM FM syncromesh? Redline? Amsoil? Motul?
i have a bit of a high rpm grinding issue for the past few months.. its like whenever i redline it wont go into gear when i shift. but whenever i gun it to 6500 and shift i can shift perfectly. im leaning towards syncros and im running honda mtf in it.. ive heard alot about these products and how it works wonders but im feelin kinda iffy b/c ive read about these here in civic's and integra forums.. i want to hear from the prelude folks about what you guys recommend.

dont use anything but MTF. All those other fluids merely mask the hard fact that ur tranny is in need of a rebuild. Take it easy on your tranny.Stick with MTF. Rebuild your tranny.
Here is a great company for rebuilds.

Honda revised their MTF formula. After adding the new MTF, my shifting really improved from before (when using old MTF).
FWIW I've used GM synchromesh and it works just fine, but its not tranny rebuild in a bottle...
sounds like you guys got a point... i have another question... is it better to do a full tranny rebuild or pick up another jdm transmission and swap it over? comparing prices now, i could spend about 1000 on a tranny rebuild and call it quits or i can just pick a jdm one up for 300 and swap it in myself.
I just changed my tranny fluid 3 weeks ago. I used MTF and it got rid of my 5th gear grind (for now
) It works great though, the whole gearbox feels better.

Where do you think you can get a JDM tranny for 300 ? I have only seen them for 550 at the lowest.
I was just saying if ur gonna rebuild your tranny you might as well do it really well.

hey, about using the aftermarket trans oils, for goodness sake man, don't do it.that stuff can really tear one up.i have seen many a tuner regret changing to redline fluid.I think it is just too thin for hondas trannys.so far ive replaced trannys in 3 different gsr integras and one civic si for guys who said they didn't hit it hard, they just switched to redline.
as far as rebuild,if you're handy and have the time,it only takes a day once you get the parts.original honda parts are expensive, but when you take care of them they last.

Have any of you tried GM synchromesh in a brand new S2000? It's amazing. The friction modifier doesn't cover up grinds, it allows everything to move smoother and easier. If you put it in from the beginning it'll decrease transmission parts wear
