My battery died on me today, and I wanted to see if I can get it warratied at least with someone else's receipt or copy. I paid $100, I gotta get my money's worth!!

you should be able to bring it somewhere and have them check it out. and if its still under manufactorers warrenty then you should be able to get a replacement.

i had an optima 51r that went on me a couple of weeks ago.

heres what you do.

first i dont think your going to be able to use someone elses receipt because they ask you for the number on the side of the battery. every battery has a unique code on it. but u can certainly try.

call optima, ask to talk to the customer service operator. tell them your situation, and theyre going to ask if u for that number on the right side of the battery. they will tell if you if its under warranty. i think if it is then you can get a free replacement without a receipt but of another type (redtop or etc.), but im not sure because i never got to this point. my optima was out of warranty. however if the warranty expired then you will absolutely need the receipt for a replacement or cash refund. if you cant find anything then youre out of luck i think. if you do find the receipt or it is under warranty, theyre going to have you run to autozone or oreillys and have them test. then you hand the phone to the them and they confirm it.

THEN you have to fax a receipt over to optima

i paid 150 for mine, lost the receipt and my warranty was out by a couple of months. THANK God that the store i bought it from "batteries plus" still had me in their records and printed me out another receipt. im expecting a 150 dollar check from optima this week

you dont need a reciept, just take it by an interstate distibutor. they own optima, and they warr. them by their date codes, not the reciepts.
