Default Autopower Rollbar question

If I were to add an autopower rollbar to my 91 crx, I was thinking about adding forward support/intrusion bars to it. Going forward from the main hoop, down about hip height to the firewall.

Is this line of thinking way off base? I basically want to add a measure of additional side intrusion protection, without going to a full cage for a daily driver.

personally i dont think its necessary. but if you want to you can do that. they might actually sell them that way. i dont remember. but for daily it gets annoying climing over door bars. x, nascar, angled, upside down, whatever.
also, are you using a stock seat still or a fixed bucket? only reason i ask is because in a side impact youll slide right into that doorbar and it will hurt alot. at least in a bucket your hip and thigh will stay put.

I actually don't mind to much about climbing over, as it is, I had a fixed back seat previous, but since I dont have a rollbar, i swapped to a reclinable sparco (but i do still have my fixed back) - anyway, i'm a short guy at 5'4" and I end up pulling my seat all the way up to drive, and to get out easier, i slide it all the way back (either seat).

The idea stems more for my wife's peace of mind. I had an Audi A4 previous, sold it and picked up the CRX, and am now daily driving it. Anyway, she has started thinking the CRX ain't so safe for a daily driver (and I agree to a degree) so I wanted to do a little something more for protection in addition to harness belts, fixed back and the regular roll hoop. Also just dont want anything up high where my noggin can pound against.

Also wondering, is it at all practical to use my fixed back for me with a harness (5 point of course) and use the reclineable sparco with the stock belt for my passenger? Dumb idea?

How does a fender brace help with safety? I thought those were only for chassis stiffening.

are you talking about adding onto a 6 point or 4 point autopower? I personally would not reccomend addind onto a autopower cage just because it will take away the nice thing about buying a autopower or any bolt in cage. it will have to be cut out i had a 6 point in mine and it seemed pretty nice.
i dont have the a pillers or side beams installed in this pic though
