Default RollCage Loop question

Installing a 6 point cage in the crx, the loop fits best when its 15 degrees or so leaning towards the back of the car. Is this legal? I did a search and found lots of pics, some were like this but others were straight up and down. thanks in advance . rob

Maximum of 6" from the back of your helmet when in the seat. I don't think it matters whether it is tilted or not.

The NHRA Rulebook does not state anything under ROLLBAR, but under ROLLCAGE it states:

"Main hoop may be laid back or forward, but driver must be encapsulated within the required roll-cage components." General Regs Section 4:11, paragraph 3.

As Boostfed points out, your helmet must be completely in front of the hoop, but NOT MORE than 6 inches in front (measured from the back side of the helmet with the driver belted in place). Additionally, the driver's seat/body must also be completely in front of that hoop. So if the bottom of the hoop is right behind the bottom of the seat, and the top can be no more than 6 inches behind the helmet, that's more or less a control on how much of an angle the hoop is laid back.

Above that, my sources tell me that anything more than 10 or 12 degrees is getting excessive.
