Default VERY clunky/resistant feeling shifting in my civic

I have a 90 civic dx, lately it has been becoming more and more difficult to shift inbetween gears, especially if i try and shift quickly. The only way to describe how it feels is like there is a wall that you have to break through to get from neutral, to in gear. So, is this a common problem, or do all EF/ED's shift clunkily stock?

You could also be in need of new shifter bushings.
