Default UPDATE on Synchro/?Clutch problem? ...

<sigh> yep, after all my research and the feeback of u guys, I KNEW I WAS RIGHT!! .... after having to wait for a backordered pressure plate, took my car back to the dealership Monday... Got it back today....

Service Rep. told me they had to replace the flywheel as well, from "excessive heat wear" and showed me these lil blackish dots on the flywheel.. uumm OK

Then he says the tech took it for a ride and found that the problem was gone, im like ok... So I get in my car take it on the street... STILL SCRATCHING FROM 2nd into 3rd!!!! (Did these about 3 times just to make sure that im not dreaming)

Come right back to dealership, told the service rep. "I told you it was my synchros, its still doing it"
He face in disbelief... Took him for ride in the car....about 3 times after I show him (and im taking it up to about 7500 rpms not even redline) , he says "Well thats not really normal driving" , and im like "What??? Here ill shift slower".
(and every single time im shifting I have the clucth to to the freaking floor!!!)
Dropped down to 2nd once again, take it to about 7500 once again, then paused for about a second and a half shift into 3rd !SCRATCH!... I tell him that everyday I go to work I have to get on the highway so on on-ramps i have to gain speed and it always does this...

He says he has to make some phone calls about this. I keep telling him its really common in these cars... He says "well we havnt had any bulletins about this problem"

needless to say Im pretty pissed, I think they are gonna try to fug me over somehow...

for the service rep.
for the tech who diagnosed my car

what u guys think....

That's about par with our local dealerships here...they did the same thing with a couple of other people...I'm not looking forward to bringing my car into the dealership.

What dealer in Jax are you taking it to?I told you before that they would do this.I can promise you that the flywheel was fine.I have 2 friends that worked for Duval and quit because of all the **** they do there.

Call national,I agree..I believe the guy to talk to is,Monty? Our district rep is a ********.He cares nothing about you or your car,so go over him and BITCH.Do NOT stop until you are satisfied.I absolutely hate everyone at Duval and the regional rep.

I wouldn't be too optimistic. The rep you are going to meet is a grade A dick.Be very assertive and do not take no for an answer.

They should be able to resurface a flywheel that has neverbeen taken off the car before. It is just like brake rotors. Sounds like an easy $200 to me.

STILL SCRATCHING FROM 2nd into 3rd!!!!
what u guys think....
If you want to pound the living he!! out of the gear box.... buy one of these..

And install it in a Mustang..... pull and push as hard as you want as long as you want.

The "B" series transmissions are not made for 'aggressive' shifting. The syncros are wear items... and they are worn.
Honda is not at fault... the service person may not know what he is doing... but still.
