Idling Problem..Cant figure out.
Recently my check engine light pop up and my idle start going weird. First thing i notice is, when I put into netural after accelerating, the idle will drop almost to 0 - 500 RPM. When coming to a complete stop, the idle will pop back up to 900RPM..then jump to 1100RPM, and if i move the steering wheel left and right, it will drop back to 900, and then adjust itself back to 1100RPM.
heres some spec:
Only mod i have to my R is Comptech Ice box.
Did Valve Adjustment at a certify honda/acura shop
Added a fuel cutt off switch
Had a check engine light on..reading code 46, fuel too lean or too rich, but dissapear by itself about a month and a half ago.
suspecting:
timing, o2 sensor, cat, fuel pressure.
Someone please help

to be honest with you i think its the O2 sensor, mine went up a little while ago, and i had the code read and it was running to rich in bank one, so im sure its the 02 sensor... good luck man
my car has pretty much the same problem except it only happens when i have my headlights on, if i turn them off it will drop to 800 but with them on, it idles at 1100 rpm. i wish someone could help us out with this. i already cleaned my IACV

do you not think that as the electrics (lights) have a direct effect on the engines idling speed, it might be something in the electrics thats causing the problem?

Dont you think the alternator can effect idle speeds depending on its work load? As for the 02 sensor, a knowlageable tech can actually plug into the obd2 connector and watch the 02 sensor to see if it working correctly. Just replacing a 175$ sensor without knowing it is bad is not a very good idea. Just my 2 cents.
PLuging the o2 sensor hole will cause your engine to run very rich because it will never go into "closed loop" All in all it will run like ****.
If you own a Type R i hope you have the care in your heart to fix problems correctly. If you dont know how to fix them, pay someone who know how to fix them.

well the o2 sensor was checked and was proven to be bad and so it was replaced, reason i asked about plugged hole is because it was faster with the faulty o2 sensor and i saw a post where people were asking how to plug the o2 sensor hole.
