thanks alot brotha!

someone suggested i just replace the cap and rotor.. im waiting for my car to get back though so i can try it out.. its only like $25 worth of parts

I called acura, they told me the Distributor assembly unit is covered under warranty though.. so big plus for me! since I called an autoparts place and they said its $500 bucks.. huhh??

hope its just a cap and rotor.

I have a similar problem. My roommate, whom works for Honda, said that it could be the "bearing". I haven't confirmed this yet... I didn't even know they had bearings but check to see if you can hear the sound at the end of the intake cam. If so, then your problem is closer to mine. GL

Can i damage anything if i dont replace it soon?? also.. I guess this means i need a brand new dizzy right?? If so, SCORE.. warranty.

Yea, I need a new dizzy. Mine has been doing this for about four months...no perceivable problems...

My hatch back in the day developed an odd sound at the distributor. I'm not sure if it sounded like a sprinkler, but it reminded me of robotic mice running around inside my distributor

Anyways, the distributor decided to crap out on the freeway shortly after. I ordered a Dking dizzy and was good to go a few days later.

dist housing bearings. Take it in if it's covered.

Foreseeable damage??? Heck yeah- if it gets bad enough, the dist could seize, skipping the timing belt some teeth and bending some valves. I've seen this a few times.

hey if you pop the dizzy cap off and see alot of brown dust, isnt that a sign that the bearings are going to fail?

anyways, to the OP...i have a 0bdII 01 gsr dizzy in minty condition if youre not covered by warranty and need one
