help with mini me
my motor in my del sol is starting to knock so i went and bought a d15b7 motor and i am going to do a minime i have dont the jdm d15 with the d16 head and i have done the ls/vtec but never the minime so i was wondering if i just bolt the head on the d15 and everything will work the vtec will get the proper amount of oil and everything or do i have to run a line like the ls/vtec setup any help will be appreciated
i have heard the same thing that is why i am asking this before i do it so i dont just put the head on and the v-tec dont get enough oil and i have to pull the head back off
where would the oil passage be on the block of the d15

ok do this.. compare the d16 head gasket to the d15..
if they both have the same holes your are good.
if there is a hole some where on the d16 headgasket thats not on the d15 that might be the oil feed.. make sure there is a hole on the block (you are going to use a d16 head gasket) get it?

yea i am going to buy a d16 headgasket from honda just so i have no problem with the head gasket but that post you gave me for the swap said nothing about having to drill a hole for a oil feed so it might not but i am not sure i have time to research everything i am not going to pull my motor till next weekend

thats all you gotta do to make the vtec work
and remove the middle lay of gasket to increase comp!

Yeah, just slap the head on.
Make sure you remove the oil plug out of the block, then it'll get the right amount of oil (just wedge a screw driver and it pops right out).
You can wire it up for VTEC directly to the ECU or use an Ex/Si wiring harness.
And you'll be ready to roll, should be pretty straight forward.

ok so i removed the head off the d15 motor and i see the plug in the middle of the block at the back between the number 2 and 3 cyclinder i just remove it and put the head back on and i alreay have everything from the ex because the del sol is a si so it has the d16z6 already in it and i am going to buy the d16y8 headgasket from honda or should i buy the d16z6 headgasket or does it matter
this is what you need my friend. your welcome.
