best place for proximity sensor?
What is the best place for a prox. sensor? The locations I am thinking about are:
behind e-brake, under rear seats or inside the headliner. I have seen the sensor in a pod in the headliner on some BMW's but I dont know if the roof's metal would interfere with the sensor's reception. Also, there is a problem with adjustment of either zone if it goes in the headliner because it will not be as easily accessible. I know there was a thread on this awhile back but the search feature has become very inefficient.

place it closest to the centerline of the vehicle.. I have mine where the center console/e-brake box (plastic) is and it works well... its coverage is pretty even on both driver and passenger side windows... as far as I know a radar/proximity sensors signal will only go through glass plastics, and air.. so you dont have to worry about its coverage extending past the roofline or whatever... as for adjustment my sensors are remotely adjustable so its not really a concern for me if its hard to reach the sensor.. but it works well for me there... just try to find a place closest to the center pont of the vehicle...
I have mine located underneath my center console. I have the Clifford Intelliguard 8000 system. It works really good and can catch people that just walk by my car, but I don't believe has ever gone off from a system.
