Default Should i replace my timing belt? pics inside.

Since timing is such an important thing and every manual stresses if theres any damage replace it im gunna just ask to be on the safe side yalls opinions on my situation.

the belt must have rubbed on the valve cover when my crank pulley came off. the outside is just a little frayed and has some scratches or rub marks that you cant see in the pics. so what yall think could it cause a problem later down the road? or will it be fine just a lil fray on the outside.

kinda hard to tell

heres one from the underside. the frayed outside doesnt go far in.

thanks

i criticize you because i wanted to see the shape of the ribs on the belt but due to the poor focusing on it.

but with the picture given from top view, it looks fine.

timing belt has roughly maybe 500 miles on it. its just a lil ruff from rubbing on vc when crank pulley fell off .

i think my paranoia is spreading. you said it yourself "just a little frayed and has some scratches or rub marks". but looking at the pictures, it looks good. yes you can breathe now.

it looks ok, but i would change it just to be on the safe side, a new belt is a lot cheaper than a new head!

You were very lucky the pulley coming off didn't cause a lot of damage, whatever you decide with the belt please torque the pulley down to the correct spec to prevent it happening again, maybe you will not be so lucky if it happens again !

You need to inspect the belt for tiny stress fractures..impossible to tell with the pics you provided
