ITR block code?
Just poking around a couple websites, and noticed something interesting with these two pictures:
First, from Sport Auto - the block code on 00-0369, the car they sold a couple days ago:

Code is 7300365, no?
Now, on my Integra, 00-0009:

Code is 7300010.
What on earth does that code stand for? Oddly close to armrest #, no? Were the blocks numbered sequentially?
Pat, who says "hmm"

code will not match chasis
But, since they are close in these two examples, are the block codes sequential as well? Curious to see how this plays out, with more samples in the study.

Maybe there is some type of Math equation that they plug the Last #'s after 73 into that would equate to the badge #'s? Any Math Gurus out there?
PS Dealerships can match the Block # to the VIN #. If you enter the VIN# it will show the block # for the car But You can't get the VIN # from Block #

I have a 99. I would check now, but my car be in the parking lot, and it be pissing rain. I will look later on when Im out of my work threads.
looking at it I would assume this is the engine build number that is stamped on the block after assembly, and test. The completed engine is then put in a car and this number is then recorded into the data file for this particular VIN. Later in life Honda can verify the engine to the car if there are any problems or recall issues. Ferrari si famous for doing this. They will list a recall on certain engine numbers, not on the whole series of cars, or VIN numbers.
Hope this helps.

that would've been a great discovery...
unless the block 'code' has been ground off.
