Default n00bie exhaust question

Ok, please dont flame me because i did use the search function before posting (though unsure of how well....)

Im about to start work on my ef3 (project car) and seeing as im still deciding on engines and whether to stay na or go turbo, i figured id start with the exhaust.

Now, this is going to be a cheap project car =D aka rangi mods so i was thinking of going with a diy exhaust. Got mates who know how to do several types of welding so figure ill give it a go.

Has anyone successfully made their own custom exhaust? being a tight a**e i figure ill stick with mild steel as opposed to stainless.

Also wondering whether i should go with the 2.25" or go for the 2.5? seeing as the latter is best for a turbo setup (would only run 6-8psi if i turboed her anyway) but im not sure that the extra .25" will make that much difference to the na setup? (or i could be completely wrong).

Any advice would be appreciated

Yup stock zc engine at the moment...which has a blown bottom end =D

Prolly going to put a b18c in it....b16a would be cheaper but there are more si's in nz with b16s i want to be abit different.

Yup planning on doing a full exhaust.
