I check the clutch cable and the clutch pedal. Everything seems to be fine. Just don't know what it can be. Maybe my clutch is out or my tranny.... It's single-cam v-tech with a ZC block. 89 honda CRX

 

what tranny and did you look at your shift linkage?

 

I don't even know what kind of tranny I have. Just bought the car a month ago for $900.... The shift linkage is fine. nothing is blockin it or anything. this is what happened I was driving and stopped at a stop sign. When I try to put it back into first gear, it wouldn't go in. I tried all the other gears and the same thing happened. It would not go into gear.....

Look at your clutch pedal and report back.

I have a idea.

 

the clutch pedal feels loose. The car starts up and everything just will not go into gear....

I am willing to bet it's a bent pedal, I had exact same thing happen to me, from abuse and a heavy clutch it'll bend the pedal to point it won't enage.

Was it getting harder to shift gears a while back?

 

with the engine off and the pedal not pressed, will it go into all gears?

 

if it still won't go into gear with the car off and the clutch not pushed your syncros are fucked pal, im willing to bet on something like that based on the situation, was it hard to put into gear on the roll before, did it click or anything, usually they don't just blow, check to make sure you didn't bend ****, did it make any weird noises or anything

 

Maybe it is due for a new clutch? When was it last replaced?

 

Yeah it still goes into gear when it's off..... when the car is on it doesn't

If it was the clutch cable it wouldn't even go into gear on or off. Sounds like the clutch is going out.

Well I would take the tranny off first and inspect it. How is your tranny fluid level? Is the fluid clean or dirty?
