VTEC doesn't kick in until 6200rpm?
I have a 92 EG with a b16 in it... never had a single problem with it... the other day I noticed it not engaging vtec until about 6200rpm.
At first I thought it might be oil pressure so I checked the oil and its right where it should be, just changed plugs a few months ago, oil is fresh, tranny fluid fresh, just changed timing belt and had valves adjusted. The car should be running amazing, and it is, other than the vtec engagement.
Anyone else ever encounter this issue?

maybe the oil pressure switch on the vtec solenoid ... im pretty sure pgmfi.org has a step by step method to convert your car to 1 wire vtec emilinating the oil pressure sensor.. if you feel like being cheap and not buying another solenoid... maybe a sigle slam one will work??? ive never tried but who knowssss

i have a friend who has crome (sp?) software and a port, etc. (i'm mildly retarded when it comes to that...sorry), and we put my basemapped chip in there to just check some stuff out, and my vtec is for sure set at 5500, but pops at ~5800 on my tach (and yes, my year gauge cluster matches the year of the car). your tach could start to stray a little
you should of seen the 8 ppl that were chillin with me waiting for my friend to finish.
we pulled it out..and it was soggy and black...
i was like uhh how the expletive is paper still there...
yea mass confusion and laughter lol.

Yeah, how the hell did it survive combustion chamber and exhaust temps? That's nuts
