i just read the CEL and it is throwing a code 21, vtec spool solenoid valve. was wondering what could be the problem or do i need to replace anything. this is for a 92 honda civic si.

have you messed with it lately? is this a swap project? if none of thee above, try replacing the seals and screen. there is a little screen type filter for the oil. sometimes this gets clogged and needs replacing.

 

yeah, recently just finish swapping a d16z6 motor in a vx hatchback. the seals and screen is from the vtec solenoid?

 

i took out the vtec solenoid and wipe everything. the filter is clean and not clog, but still throwing the same code. do i need to fill up the oil?

yeah, all the wires are correct. if not, what wires should i be looking for?
