I just picked up a clean 95 del sol si , Havent been in the import thiing for 2 years.. Left honda's and got into toyota's and rock crawling and stuff..

I HAVE A few Questions? I have the d16z6 , but the cluster in the car had the redline at 7500.. Just curious if maybe there was a way to check if maybe there was a stock b16a3 in the car before, and they replaced it with a sohc motor.. I though most delsols had the cluter redline at 6700..?

Next question, It needs a thermastat , Should i buy a oem honda one ? or a auto zone one ? I HEAR the cheaper ones stick, and will casue the car to over heat in the future.. ?

And has anyone ever put a 8 or 10 sub in one ? i was looking, and there wasnt much room for a clean install..

if its a 95 del sol si then it has the z6 and it redlines at 7200
look at the vin #. the 4th 5th and 6th will tell you what it is.
it should read eh6
get the oem thermostat

 

i've always wondered y the z6 motor redlines higher than the y8 motor? i mean the y8 motor makes slightly more hp right? i know redline issues can't really come to play in hp but i've always wondered haha...
