How much money do you have to spend?

This question is retarded. Read the stickies at the top of the forum and do some research before you waste our time.

IMO if your running a tight budget then you should boost the single. But if you have spare cash in hand. upgrade motor and see how you like that. If you wanna boost your D15 you will feel a great difference...better than stock.

This topic has been beaten to death. You will find information in the archives. It all comes down to what you can afford. And, exactly what you have planned for the car.

Get a dohc and turbo it. you can find LS's cheap all day long around here, Ls's arent that much more then a D series. IMO you usually have better gains when you start off with more horsepower, ive raced a turbo sohc with my dohc before and I usually beat them and if they do beat me its not by much. If you turbo both the sohc and the dohc the dohc would win all day long, why spend money on a sohc to make a lil more power then a Dohc makes near stock?

If its a budget problem save your money and wait till you have enough to do excatly what you want dont settle for the first thing that comes along.

RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH, and when you think you've done enough research DO MORE. I have a d16y8 and plan on doing a home made turbo kit for money reasons. I'm sure you'll be able to make decent power say between 165-220 on a d16. Just make sure that you know exactly what your doing with your motor. i.e. compression and leak down test before you even attempt to buy anything relating to a turbo kit or build. If you dont know what a comp. or leak down test is then research. Also remember that you shouldnt run more than say 7lbs or more on a d16 b/c of its high compression unless the tunning is all straight. Good luck
